About 2nd Folio

2nd Folio is a new and exciting Shakespearian card game that brings the Bard into the 21st Century!

Using QR Code technologies students play in teams, undertaking drama and literacy tasks that enable them to interrogate some of Shakespeare’s most famous lines: uncovering new meanings, creating new interpretations, and making Shakespeare their own.

Each task is worth points and students themselves get to make critical judgements as to which of their peers deserves the greatest reward! 2nd Folio can be played again and again, the durable packs of cards serving as an excellent resources for de-mystifying Shakespeare.

However, the magic of 2nd Folio does not end there. The game can be played online, drawing on a powerful database of video and media clips to enrich students’ learning. What’s more students themselves can add their own work to this growing, living resource, helping to build an accessible and engaging learning resource for all. The QR codes embedded in each card make this use of ICT a fun and contemporary way to learn.
